Speaker 1:

So here we are at the end of 2023. What do we need to take with us as the calendar shifts and what do we need to leave behind? Can Tarot help us figure that out? Hi, I'm Corbie Mitleid and this is the Psychic Yellow Brick Road. The world is changing and life doesn't have a spark it used to, so we look around and ask where do I need to go to catch the magic again? You've found it. Welcome to the Psychic Yellow Brick Road, a weekly podcast that delves into the intuitive world, metaphysics, life purpose and how to connect with the compassion of spirituality. I'm Corbie Mitleid and I've been on the Psychic Yellow Brick Road for 50 years. I'm a Certified Tarot Master, past life specialist, psychic medium, channel and author and, most importantly, I'm an elder in the field, ready to pass on everything I've discovered to you. So let's hit that Psychic Yellow Brick Road where you can find the real wizards and avoid the flying monkeys.

Speaker 1:

Three ways Tarot can predict your best life in 2024. What a world! We've never been so out of our elements. Most of our usual distractions or ways to center ourselves went out the window in 2020. And now we're recognizing that the world of 2019 is forever gone. 2023 has seen war, climate catastrophes, political chaos and a lot of more personal stuff close to home. i.. if your life is anything like mine, and I bet it is. So what happens if you sit with a pack of Tarot cards and a ton of questions about what's ahead? Can a card spread help you figure out your future in such a crazy time? It can, if you just remember three things. One, you don't need to be a professional to do your own readings. Two, your own intuition and self-knowing are two of the most powerful tools you have to move forward in an uncertain world. Three, learn to listen and trust what your gut is telling you, and don't worry if your card interpretation doesn't exactly match its typical meanings. For example, if looking at the Emperor card reminds you how your father handled tough situations successfully when he was in the hospital, then that is as fully valid as the meaning that you'd find in a standard book of tarot interpretations.

Speaker 1:

You need to look at the long game. It's tempting to use the cards to ask immediate questions how safe is my life right now? Will I be able to see my family this month? Or will someone have COVID or flu or RSV? Is my job stable? But that keeps you stuck in the stress section of your life.

Speaker 1:

If you want to view your best life after this year's Sojourn a in Crazy World, start thinking about what you'd like to have in it. Perhaps the cards can indicate priorities A got to get it back, B worth looking at, or C it's no longer who you are or are willing to be. They can indicate where and in what form your best life will be one, three or even five years down the line, or they can look at how you will have grown during this time of unknown adventures. You see, yes or no never works. Always ask how. Empowerment is your big ticket item. If you ask, "will my career still be viable and you get a no, then what happens, especially if it's something you love? Better to ask the cards something like how do I either continue my current career or morph it into something viable in the future? Then the cards can give you ideas, directions and places to put your energy that you might not have considered without their colorful, archetypal input. So I decided I would do that for all of you, my listeners, this week. Here's what I asked for you and here's what I got.

Speaker 1:

First question: what lessons do we need to take from 2023? Now what happened was two cards stuck together and got pulled together, and when that happens I always read them as a pair. The two cards were the Seven of Cups and the Ten of Swords. The Seven of Cups shows a young boy looking at seven cups suspended in the air and each one has a different symbol from riches to glory, to deceit, to death and his job is to decide which one holds his truest dreams. He needs to make a choice, but has to do it thoughtfully, carefully and deliberately. And that Ten of Swords card that shows a man dead on the shore, sword sticking out of him like skewers, I often say that card means there's no more blood to bleed. Just get up and walk away. In this case it talks about forced change, the dramatic end of a cycle, giving up on lost causes. Put those two together and the lessons we need to take together because I'm in this with you are to look carefully at all the things we've wanted in the past, the old hopes and dreams and maybes that we wouldn't let go of. We need to recognize that some of those desires simply won't ever happen, because of the world, because of who we are or who we've become, whatever reason. It's time to choose the one thing that is most important to you, recognizing that the world isn't what it was even five years ago. What can you choose that will still work in a world that is shifting so rapidly that last year's adventures feel like they occurred a century ago? That is what you wrap your arms around and claim.

Speaker 1:

Question two: what is the key to playing the long game in 2024? By long game here I mean setting your sights on what you want your life to always contain. Those are qualities, those are ethics. That's who you want to be in the world. The card that came up is the Hierophant, sometimes called the Pope card. It speaks of tradition, ritual, stability, ceremony, commitment. To play that long game, you need to choose something to commit to heart, deep soul, assured. And we're not talking about religion. We're talking about how you want the world to look the whole world, not just your personal groups. What you want to give to the world, to know that when you look back from the celestial balcony after you shed this particular incarnation, you'll be able to see this shining energy and say that was me, that was what I did to make the world a better place. And you may have to do it within other people's rules, but there are always ways to incorporate your ideas into existing structures.

Speaker 1:

Question three: no matter how rough things get, what will remind me that I'm loved? Without some form of love in our life, it's shallow, it's a cardboard existence. But love isn't necessarily a family or a partner, or even friends. It's source energy. The card I chose for us this time is the Hermit. Now, I read him a little differently than most, because he appears to me as Diogenes, a Greek philosopher who walked around with a lit lantern day and night, claiming to always be looking for an honest man. For me, that card is about the ultimate truth of who we are, of what we want to find, and I will tell you that the light Diogenes carries is not only about truth, but light itself. His light was never extinguished, and yours won't be either. The light that is within all of us is the light of spirit and creation, and it can never be extinguished, no matter how dark the world may appear around us. So I want you to pull out those cards you had in high school, or maybe order a deck online and familiarize yourself with new ways of thinking and a novel way of doing a little deep dish research into who you'll be when the new year dawns. This is Corbie Midleid and I wish you blessings, resilience and a good sense of humor for 2024 from The Psychic Yellow Brick Road.
